Raised in a Real Family Environment
McGovern Family Corgis began with a love for dogs and a passion for raising puppies the right way. Growing up on a farm in Central Illinois, I was introduced to breeding at a young age and have spent over 20 years learning, growing, and building a program rooted in experience and care.
Today, our puppies are raised in a busy, family-filled home surrounded by multiple generations, including children and extended family. With constant interaction, play, and exposure to everyday life, our puppies are naturally socialized and well-prepared to transition into their new homes.
This hands-on, family-centered environment is what sets our program apart and helps us raise confident, loving companions. With a large extended family and constant interaction, our puppies are exposed to a level of socialization that is hard to replicate.
Our Parent Dogs

McGovern's Amber
AKC registered sable bluie female with a soft, expressive temperament and beautiful, unique coloring. Amber is a fluff carrier and has been health tested, making her a valuable part of our program. She has a loving, attentive personality and thrives in a family environment, passing down both her looks and sweet nature to her puppies.
McGovern's Lucy
Lucy is a wonderful addition to our breeding program. She is a CKC American Corgi. Lucy has one marbled blue eye and a merle coat. Lucy is clear for DM, VWD1 & EIC, she is also a bluie and fluffy carrier. Lucy is known for her exceptional temperament, intelligence, and classic corgi physical traits. We are excited to see the lovely puppies she will produce as she continues to develop within our loving family environment.
McGovern's Diego
AKC registered sable bluie carrier male with a confident, affectionate temperament and strong structure. Diego has been health tested and is a proven part of our program. He is known for his intelligence, loyalty, and balanced personality, consistently passing down both quality and temperament to his puppies.
McGovern's Painted Aurora
Aurora is a stunning fluffy carrier, bluie sable AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi dam with one blue eye and one brown. She is a DM carrier and EIC & VWD1 clear, making her a wonderful addition to our program. Aurora is know for her eye-catching beauty and her calm and people focused temperament.
McGovern's Dolly
AKC registered red female with a calm, loving temperament and classic corgi expression. Dolly has been health tested and is a wonderful part of our program. She has a gentle, easygoing nature and produces puppies with excellent temperaments and family-friendly personalities.
Stud Services
We are proud to offer select McGovern Family Corgis males for stud services to approved breeding programs. Our focus is on maintaining the integrity of the breed through thoughtful pairings, strong temperament, and overall quality. We are committed to producing well-balanced, healthy puppies that reflect the values of our program. Our goal is to work with responsible breeders who share our commitment to raising healthy, well-tempered dogs. Limited availability. Please inquire for details.
Breeding Requirements
We work with approved females that are AKC/CKC registered and in good health. We review pedigrees and health information to ensure the best possible pairing.
Health Testing
All our studs are health screened for DM, VWD1 & EIC.
Location
Located in Champaign County, IL. We offer natural ties for local pairings.
How to Inquire
Interested breeders should fill out the contact form and provide their female registered name, pedigree, and current health results for initial review.
Adoption Info
We strive to make the payment process simple and transparent for our families. Electronic payments must be completed in advance, while cash payments can be pre-approved prior to pickup.
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy. Deposits are applied toward the total purchase price and secure your puppy or your place on our waitlist. We are unable to hold puppies without a deposit.
Final Payment
If you are paying your remaining balance electronically, the payment must be completed and confirmed at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled pickup date. This allows time for processing and ensures a smooth, stress-free pickup experience. Puppies will not be released until full payment has been received and confirmed.

• Cash (at pickup if arranged in advance)
If your reservation begins through Good Dog, all payments (deposit and final balance) must be completed through the platform. Financing options may also be available through Good Dog.
Pickup Timing
Puppies are typically ready for their forever homes between 8–9 weeks of age. We will coordinate a scheduled pickup time to ensure a smooth and personal transition for your puppy.

We love getting to know our future puppy parents so we can understand your lifestyle and ensure our puppies go to the right environment.
Once you are approved, a deposit will hold your chosen puppy or your spot on our waitlist.
If you are paying your balance electronically, please ensure the transfer is finished at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup date.
On pickup day, your puppy arrives with a starter pack and our ongoing family support for their new life.
Transportation for Our Puppies
We’re happy to help families who are not local or are unable to pick up in person. We offer both ground transportation and air travel options for our puppies.
Your puppy’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always our top priority. We only work with trusted partners and make sure each puppy is cared for every step of the way.
