Raised in a family — not a kennel.
About Us: McGovern Family Corgis
McGovern Family Corgis was founded by Tiffany McGovern, who grew up on a small farm in Central Illinois. From a young age, she was involved in raising and helping deliver puppies, and that early love for animals grew into the program you see today.
With over 20 years of hands-on experience, our program is built on a deep respect for the breed and a commitment to doing things the right way. Every corgi we raise is part of our family first — loved, handled daily, and given the foundation they need to grow into confident, loyal companions.
Raised with intention. Surrounded by family. Prepared for real life.
Our Story
From a young age, Tiffany was the kid who always wanted to be in the whelping box. Her family raised Labrador Retrievers, and she was there for every step of the process—late-night deliveries, bottle feeding when needed, and watching each puppy grow into their own personality. Those early litters left a lasting mark. Tiffany fell in love with the joy of raising puppies, the responsibility of doing it well, and the privilege of seeing them join their forever families.
Over time, that passion narrowed in on one special breed: the corgi. Their big hearts, bright minds, and loyal nature felt like the perfect fit for a family-focused program.
Today, that passion has grown into something even more meaningful. McGovern Family Corgis is truly a family-run program, with Tiffany working closely alongside her parents, Heather and Bill Gollihur. Together, all three are actively involved in the care, development, and raising of each puppy—combining decades of experience with a shared commitment to doing things the right way. Tiffany remains hands-on daily, working side by side with her parents to ensure every puppy is raised with intention, structure, and love.
Raising puppies has been part of our family for generations. Tiffany’s grandmother, Jean, first passed down her knowledge while raising Maltese, and her son, Bill—Tiffany’s dad—continued that legacy through his work with Championship Labrador Retrievers. That same foundation was then passed on to Tiffany, who built the program you see today.
Now, that love is being carried into the next generation. Tiffany’s daughter, Ava, is already learning, helping, and sharing in the day-to-day care of the puppies—continuing a tradition that has become a true part of our family.
Our Program Today
McGovern Family Corgis is a true family effort, with Tiffany working alongside her parents carefully selecting pairings and guiding families through the process. Along side Tiffany, Heather and Bill are 6 adult children and 20 grandchildren regularly involved, meaning each puppy is surrounded by constant interaction and attention from the very beginning. This level of real-life, hands-on socialization helps our puppies grow into confident, well-adjusted companions—ready to thrive in their new homes.
Experience
With over 20 years of hands-on experience, we’ve been involved in every stage of raising puppies — from delivery to placement. This foundation gives us a deep understanding of both the responsibility and the joy that comes with breeding.
Family Environment & Socialization
What truly sets McGovern Family Corgis apart is the heart behind our program. With a large, hands-on family involved in raising every litter, our puppies are surrounded by constant interaction, play, and real-life experiences from the very beginning.
Intentional Breeding
Every pairing is thoughtfully planned with a focus on temperament, structure, and overall quality. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach — each litter is carefully considered to produce well-rounded, loving companions.
Our Values
Real-Life Socialization
Raised in the middle of everyday family life, our puppies are exposed to children, household sounds, and constant interaction. With multiple generations involved, they grow up confident, well-adjusted, and ready to transition into their new homes.
